Mechanical Design

Project 1

A one- or two-sentence overview explaining what this project was and what you accomplished.

Project 1

Overview

Explain the overall project. What were you building, researching, testing, or trying to understand?

Give enough context that somebody unfamiliar with the project understands why it mattered.

My Role

Explain specifically what you were responsible for. This is especially important for team projects.

Design Requirements

Explain the major requirements and constraints that guided the design.

Design Process

Discuss your engineering process. Explain how you moved from the initial problem to concepts, calculations, CAD models, prototypes, or simulations.

Testing

Describe how you evaluated the design. Explain the test setup, important variables, equipment used, and what measurements you collected.

Results

Summarize the most important results. This is a good place for graphs, tables, photographs, or comparisons between your design requirements and actual performance.

Conclusions

Explain what worked, what did not work, and whether the design met its original goals.

What I Learned

Briefly discuss what you learned technically and what you would change if you continued developing the project.
